La Cineteca segnala: IFA Masterclass 2026

International Filmmaking Academy, in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna, opens the call for its 13th IFA Masterclass in Filmmaking (June 25 – July 7, Bologna). 
A call to the world’s emerging filmmakers, cinematographers and assistant directors. Deadline to apply: May 20

Come and make your short film in Bologna under the guidance of Lynne Ramsay and Lav Diaz.
Selected participants will develop, produce and premiere a short film, working side by side with one of the two auteurs, each leading their own group.
A space to refine your voice and affirm your authorship identity.
Two radical voices. Two different approaches to cinema.
One unique opportunity to experience auteur filmmaking at its highest level.
 
The IFA Masterclass takes places during the Il Cinema Ritrovato. In the past editions IFA has hosted Bernardo Bertolucci, Abbas Kiarostami, Béla Tarr, Jane Campion, John Landis, Ruben Östlund,, Andrey Zvyagintsev and Asghar Farhadi, among others.
 
Thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and Fondazione MAST, the public will have the opportunity to attend screenings and meet the two renowned auteurs. Stay tuned for more information.
 
The International Filmmaking Academy also partners with Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, Bologna Welcome, Biblioteca Salaborsa, Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Palazzo Boncompagni, ADCOM, Spaghetti Digitali, CILECT (a global network of over 200 film schools), and film commissions worldwide.
